The Tenth International Conference on War Tax Resistance and Peace Tax Campaigns (WTR-PTCs) will be held in Brussels, Belgium, from Thursday evening July 8 till Sunday July 11, 2004. The general theme will be our human right to conscientious objection to paying taxes for the military and our human duty to pay taxes for peace and civil conflict resolution.
Topics for speakers, panel discussion and workshops under discussion, are:
- Strategies and action: evaluation and future of the WTR-PTCs; Forms of action; Another World is possible: themes and allies;
- Lobbying (Training in lobbying techniques; Exchange of experiences; Arguments and counterarguments; Communication with press and public);
- Conscientious objection to military taxes in international institutions;
- Various topics (Court cases: experiences and how to collect/use them in CPTI; Churches and religious movements; Promoting a culture of peace and non-violence through education; Women working for peace and non-violence).
A fringe program will be organized on Sunday afternoon (in Brussels) and on Monday-Tuesday July 12-13 (“In Flanders Fields”). The biennial General Assembly of Conscience and Peace Tax International will also be held during the conference. Simultaneous translation is available.

The “House Our Lady of the Bird Song” is a nice conference center with a beautiful garden, lift, and parking space. It is near a park, is accessible for wheelchair users and is easy to reach by car and public transportation.
This is an excellent occasion to meet peace activists from more than 15 countries, men and women who do not go along with the logics of war and in conscience cannot pay for the military. Indeed, another world is possible. Join us.
